OMFG, is this... an original character?! Yes, it is!! IT REALLY FUCKING IS!! HOORAY FOR KATIE! I deserve a parade!!

I've been angry at myself for a long time because I haven't been working on my story or drawing my original characters. I don't want to give up on one of the few things that I'm proud of and can call my own. Anywho...

Allow me to introduce one of my (innumerable, overly-elaborate) original characters, Arseti. How can I describe Arseti...? Words like... evil, vengeful, sadistic, and cruel come to mind... Of course, as always, he's not entirely evil (I can't seem to make a character I don't like, a 'bad guy', so to speak...). There's a lot of history behind his evil ways, but he is, nevertheless, an entity of malice and hatred. Arseti is a pagan god in the (made-up) religion of Arkad. Currently (in the storyline, set in modern times) he is serving a 1000 year sentence of confinement and benevolence for his outstanding violation of the religion's laws and for innumerable deeds of unspeakable horror.

Arseti's primary goal in life, at this point in time, is to kill all the higher gods that looked down upon him and eventually had to confine him, and to exact revenge on everyone who shunned and tormented him as a child.

But let's start this from the beginning. Arseti's father, Arkadi, was a well-loved and powerful god who fell in love with a goddess from another religion, which was a major taboo. The punishment for this crime was lighter in Arkadi's religion (just a demotion in rank) but the goddess was sentenced to death. She was expelled from her fellow dieties and her land, and her powers were taken. This would cause her to weaken and die in a short while. Arkadi decided to die with her, and left his religion and gave up his powers. Arseti, who was born shortly before his parents died, was going to be left to die, as neither religion wanted a child of mixed origins. However, a close friend of Arkadi took the orphaned child in and raised him as her own with all the love she could offer.

Arseti was a quiet, timid child who liked nature and animals and always tried to please others. However, the other gods and goddesses always looked down on Arseti and the other children mocked him constantly because of his foreign mother. Arkadi was the highest god, Markada's, dearest friend. Markada was hurt by Arkadi's choice to die, and blamed Arseti for his death. Perhaps the cruelest of them all, Markada never actually told Arseti he despised him. His subtle contempt for the boy, compounded with the constant torment from his peers drove Arseti into a deep depression that even his guardian's constant love and kindness could not pull him out of. Arseti hated himself and wanted nothing more than to be accepted.

One day, he just snapped from the pressure and pain he felt and lashed out with his powers for the first time. He injured many of the other gods and goddesses, and even though they now feared him, they still did not accept him or show him any kindness. He began developing his powers that he inherited from his father and all the self-loathing and sorrow he felt slowly turned to resentment and contempt for those around him. He decided that no one ever really gave a shit about him, and wanted seek revenge on those that hurt him. Consequently, he also hurt the few who really did care about him with his actions and words. This included Mama, the goddess who raised him, and Kana, Markada's daughter, and the only child who never treated him cruelly and always tried to comfort him. Over the years, Kana had fallen in love with the quiet boy she'd grown up with, so when Arseti seemed to reciprocate her feelings, she was overjoyed. Sadly, Arseti took advantage of her feelings for him and tried to get at Markada by taking his daughter's virginity and holding her devotion to him over her father.

Things went downhill from there. Arseti grew accustomed to killing and torturing the mortals below him. He demanded sacrifices and offerings that were unfulfillable and then punished his subjects mercilessly. Arseti committed many atrocites and carried out acts of revenge on others, and thus, pushed Markada to the edges of his patience. He taunted him and tried to get him to fight him... Markada, however hard it was, resisted, knowing that he would lose to Arseti. The power Arseti weilded, the power his father held, was fearsome to behold, and had been passed down from the founding god, Arkad. This power was tied to the 'heart' of the wielder, and responded to their emotions. If one became angry, the power would become stronger. Arkadi was patient and reasonable, and thus held the boundless power in check. He rarely, if ever, used this power that could shake the earth to its core and rip through a person, tearing them apart so nothing was left. Arseti, however, did not know about his abilities except what he learned himself. He knew when he became angry, he also became stronger, but he had no idea that this power was theoretically boundless. Markada knew if Arseti ever did find out, the world could very well be destroyed by the hatred he held for it.

The final offense that led to Arseti's imprisonment was an outright attack on the highest god. Arseti attacked Markada with the intent to kill, and it was all Markada could do to just defend himself. It was stopped by the other four high gods and goddesses, and had it continued much longer, Arseti would surely have won. It took all the power of the five highest gods to create a spell that confined Arseti to his temple and kept his powers from reaching outside its boundaries.

Currently, as of this day, Arseti has been imprisoned for a little over 900 years. His release could spell disaster not only for his religion, but for the world as a whole. There is no way to stop his impending release, and those who fear it can only wait...

Kana, Markada's only daughter, still loves Arseti and believes the kind, gentle boy she fell in love with still exists somewhere inside him. Can her love for him stop him from killing her father and even destroying the world?

Eighteen generations after one of the many human women Arseti had sex with gave birth to his partially divine child, a perfect incarnation was born. This being, while mortal, has unbeleivable power and cannot be killed. He was born with as much of the god's power his mortal body could bear. 600 years of suffering and loss turned this man into a heartless, ruthless killer. Until very recently, he wouldn't have given a shit if the world ended tomorrow. However, with newfound meaning and a glimmer of happiness in his life, could he possibly have the power to stop a god bent on destruction, if only to protect the one thing he has ever loved?

A demon, favored by the queen of hell and given immense strength and power, had only to live for himself, and what he does to survive. A woman with a sorrowful past and nothing to offer him but her love changed his life forever. His love for her became greater than his love of himself and of his power. Against his nature, against everything that he is, he decides to live for the woman who taught him the meaning of love, and eventually, their only daughter as well. Could he defeat the very gods themselves, even with the power of Satan and hell itself on his side?

A child born of a powerful demon and a mortal woman, and in whom the blood of the partially divine now flows, also has immense strength that can become uncontrollable and immeasurably destructive. She, too, has the power of hell within her, but also the power of heaven and the gods. Can one of both worlds be a formidable force to combat a resentful god and stop his rampage, even if it means sacrificing herself to do so?

Somewhere, in the uncharted jungles of Africa, a princess with incredible powers was born not too long ago. Her story takes place in the city, where she tries to fit in with the people she meets there. Her limits are still unknown, and her legendary power has been used by her ancestors to stop disasters and save people in the past. Is she strong enough to stop an evil god she has no knowledge of?

This is my story. All these people and many more are connected to one another and their lives overlap and interact. There is lots of bizzare shit, cliche subplots, redeeming moral lessons, not-so-moral lessons, disturbing stories, action, gore, love, sex, revenge, murder, mystery, humor, and even the color orange.

Dear god, is this... a plot?! I think I'm going to have a heart attack... This turned into a goddam essay and has gone more than a bit off-topic, and while it may bore you, I... I'm so happy. I think I'm going to cry now...

Thank you very much! You have no idea how much your feedback means to me. I wanted him to look especially evil, and I always put a lot of work into his jewelry (even though it's a pain in the ass to draw...)

Oh, Katie!!! it is one of the better stories I've read before!! I like a lot the past of your character, Since his father fall in love with a godess of another religion....what a great message!!! and everything that happens after!...the idea of the reincarnation is awesome, I'm taking it in one of my original stories...the possibilities are huge!!! - - -

I like his face and his attitude. He reminds me a bit my Original character named Dabenor (well, not all mine, a co-author work ;P ) [link] . I'm so glad that you work in your original characters and stories. And I hope that you can show us the other character in other time.

I feel bad with myself for the same reason that you. I've been drawing too much fanart and leaving my original characters and stories a bit abandoned. But I can tell you, you are one of my best inspiration sources and I'll upload here in DA more of my OC. But not in this lerato gallery, in my original one .

Oh, yeah. one last comment. No matter how long is a description of a characters even if you talk about his/her/it story enough. I have my own "profiles" too :) [link]

Take care and good luck!! I'm sure that your room mate gonna love your the same as I!
